We are in trouble

I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
I did not create the jinns and the humans except to worship Me alone.
The Earth is screaming
The Earth is screaming at us and we press on as if all is well: hoping for a political solution (politics = the allocation of resources), and hoping that more scientific knowledge and more wealth will save us. They will not!
What to do?
So how do we live out our last days? Five thousand years of spiritual
wisdom points the way. That way is well put by Jesus in Matthew 22:37-39:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.
Why love God and our neighbors?
The Bible, Torah, and the Quran state that God created a Kingdom that includes this life and an eternal afterlife which is divided into two parts: Heaven and Hell. God admonishes us that to enter Heaven we are to be moral, worshipful, charitable, and love Him alone.
Bottom line
What we choose to do with our short lives here on earth will determine our eternal fate. God gives each one of us a choice in this matter (why He created us).
While we will probably not save humanity, we can live with peace in our hearts for whatever time we have left by:
loving God
living more reverently
live by God's commandments
treating our neighbor as we would like to be treated.
